Scotland Travel Diaries
But Edinburgh is a mad god’s dream
Fitful and dark,
Unseizable in Leith
And wildered by the Forth,
-Hugh MacDiarmid (1892-1978)
A 24 page A5 zine, filled with sketches and drawings of my 10 day trip in Scotland. I brought along my sketchbook on the trip and would sit by the roadside doing rough sketches of buildings, things and people. I loved how different the buildings were, how the sun would set when it's past 9pm, how pastries were displayed in heaps in shop windows and how seagulls flocked together in the summer. It was a magical 10 days, and I hope I captured a tiny bit of that magic in my zine.
From the zine, I also made a set of 3 postcards, 1 similar to the zine cover, a sketch of the Princes Street Gardens of Edinburgh, 2 seagull postcards and a seagull keychain.
